Will the surprises never cease?

This is one of the funniest sh*t I’ve ever read…

Q: What are the procedures to renew my membership if it is expiring soon?
A: You have to maintain sufficient fund (sic) in your XXXX account. The system will deduct the renewal fee from your account and renew your membership automatically on the date of expiry.

Q: How much is the renewal fee?
A: The renewal fee for A and B is $42.00 (inclusive of [tax]) and $21.00 (inclusive of [tax]) respectively.

Q: What should I do if my membership has expired?
A: You will have to come down personally to XXXX to appeal to our Customer Service Officer for late renewal. All renewal is subjected to approval. An administrative fee for late renewal will be imposed

Q: What will happen to the balance fund in my expired account if I do not have sufficient fund for renewal?
A: A monthly maintenance fee will be imposed and deducted from your XXXX account after your membership has expired.

Night shifts

Switching between working regular hours and night shifts can be debilitating for the uninitiated. It messes up one’s biological clock, and the feeling is somewhat like a persisting jetlag.

I may be accustomed to keeping late nights in the comforts of home after a full day’s work but the feeling is quite different from this weekly or biweekly switching pattern. At work the nervous tension lingers and drains; recoving in the day just doesn’t do it, unless I am able to pretend that day is night. I know of people who can maintain this sort of lifestyle but I just haven’t gotten the hang of it.

Move to Drupal: 80% complete!

An update! after, what, 8 months of procrastination? It’s been so long since I last posted a blog entry that I’ve nearly forgotten how to write. This site has finally been Drupalised — after playing 睨めっこ with my trusty (but bulky) DELL trinitron over the past week, after work and over the weekend. The catalyst for this decision was the wonderful relevation that Drupal 4.7 beta now supports unicode MySQL properly. This means that my Japanese and Chinese words no longer look rubbish in phpmyadmin. How nice is that? Over the next few weeks, you will see more embellishments to this web space, and more importantly, updates (I hope!) to this blog. I can’t wait for Drupal 4.7 to be final which would mean more cool modules. I’m such a sucker for the taxonomies in Drupal. I’ve always been obsessed about cataloging things — as seen from my old Mythology webbie and my Led Zep bootleg collection — which makes Drupal my blogger’s ambrosia. :-P
