Dr Who season 4 finale and David Tennant
Posted 2008-07-05 (土) 午後12:56 by terraIt is approximately one more day before I’ll be able to watch the Doctor Who S4 finale. I promise not to spoil myself before I get to watch the episode. It is so tempting to do so because I really really really want to know if David Tennant is going to stay. He mustn’t leave. When I first watched Doctor Who (2005) last year, I got used to Christopher Eccleston’s (a.k.a the Invisible Man Claude in Heroes) and was surprised to find out that he regenerated into Tennant in the 1st season’s finale. I love Eccleston’s portrayal but perhaps one season wasn’t enough to keep me hooked enough. Then came Tennant and he really brought the game up. While the 9th Doctor was a cynical and streetwise (?) one, Tennant’s version is childlike, curious, empathetic, suave, all combined together. Tennant cannot go now! This time I really hope it’s one of Russell Davies’ tricks to megaboost the ratings for the series and we’ll still have Tennant for season 5.T____________T
I hate group work at USyd
Posted 2008-05-18 (日) 午後10:55 by terraSeriously, group work at USyd is such a pain. 80% of the people I have dealt with are one of the following:
- Pure incompetent,
- Apathetic to their studies and can’t give a damn about putting effort,
- Last minute people who think they can actually produce quality work just before deadlines,
- People who always tell me they are busy with this and that but can find time to have full day of entertainment and plenty of sleep (when there I am slogging till 2-5 AM in the morning)
- Irresponsible freeloaders.
Invasion of the moths
Posted 2007-10-11 (木) 午後9:42 by terraWas in Pitt’s Street (Sydney CBD) last weekend. Guess what, there were literally millions of moths in the sky. It was absolutely horrifying. Moths are such disgusting insects. One or two are still all right, but swarms?!? Australia is a very interesting place, swarms of flies and moths.
Transformers, more than meets the eye
Posted 2007-06-30 (土) 午前12:08 by terraOMG, this film is the win. I was hoping for a decent movie but it turned out to be the most enjoyable movie I’ve watched in months! *___* LOVE LOVE
Oh before the show started there was a preview of the new Harry Potter movie. Too bad I’m not going to be in Singapore when it’s released :-( Looks like I’ll have to watch it my own in Sydney (maybe my little cousin will watch it too?).
Sick >_<
Posted 2007-06-27 (水) 午前9:00 by terraGreat, falling sick just before a long ‘trip’ to a cold environment is the smartest thing to do. T____T Just hope I can recover quickly so I don’t have to be sniffing on the plane and inconveniencing everyone else.
Why, Creative, why?
Posted 2007-06-23 (土) 午前3:05 by terraWhy, Creative, did you not release this earlier? If you had released this instead of the Zen Stone, or had at least advertised this product in advance, I would have definitely bought this instead of the Sansa Express! Too bad you just lost a customer because of poor marketing.
何じゃと~!

Internet dependency
Posted 2006-12-29 (金) 午前12:48 by terraThe recent internet disruption fiasco due to damaged submarine telecommunications cables, as result of the Taiwan earthquakes, have made me realise how utterly dependent I have become on the internet. The speeds I’ve been getting for some websites tonight are reminiscent of the good ole days of 9.6k PC modems; and it’s driving me nuts!!
Go read a book Terra or get a life.
(On a side note, meeting up with friends over dinner today was really nice)
Funny how I’m perfectly fine without network access while overseas on vacation but having to go (semi-)cold turkey this holiday season, stuck in the little red dot is nearly too much to bear!
Absolute Sandman Vol. 1 - やっと手に入った!!!
Posted 2006-11-14 (火) 午後11:26 by terraFinally got my hands on the first volume of The Absolute Sandman!
This is one of the most gorgeous books I have ever laid my hands on. And I thought The Photographer’s Led Zeppelin was yummy. XD
Firstly, it’s humongous!! The graphic novels feel so miniscule in comparison. Definitely not something you’d want to take out of the house — but that’s the point of a collector’s book anyway, duh.
Secondly, the recolouring work is amazing. The graphic novels look so drab when put side by side. Additionally, the printing paper used is so much better; everything seems to pop and come alive now.
The only negative thing I can say about it for now is that when I took my book out of the slipcase, I found some nasty little weird cardboard remains sticking to the leather case of the book. I think it’s something leftover from preprocessing that wasn’t removed thoroughly. Such a pain to remove! There’s some very tiny patches of sticky patches left. Not very noticeable but I shall have to find some way to clean it. Anyone knows what’s the best way to gently clean leather? I hate being such a nitpicker but I can’t help it ‘cos I have the collector’s syndrome.
