Zegapain Episode 11

消されるなこの想い
 忘れる我が痛み

I just finished watching Zegapain episode 11 and bawled my eyes out. T__T

It’s the people relationships in this anime that drive home a point that The Matrix tried but failed to accomplish in its third installment simply because it was overambitious:

人は島ではない
 一人では生きてはいけない

The Matrix 2 involved too much pseudo-philosophy and religious threads, which was great fun in itself, but made it difficult for the Matrix 3 to weave into a proper story. I guess TV animes have the luxury of time to tell a story, and if carefully contructed can become sheer brillance.

Anyway it’s too early to tell how the anime will end. I hope it can keep up to its current momentum and not sink like some anime (read: Ev*ng*l**n) towards the end.

The decay of my English

It’s been three months since I graduated from the university and nearly four months since my last blog entry. In the process of writing this entry, I uncover the decay of my English writing ability… T_T

So what have I been up to of late? Well, let’s see… Passing my driving basic theory (driving lessons to begin in September), watching tons of anime (Juuni Kokki, Escaflowne etc.) and reading manga. However, the highlight of the past few months since graducation would definitely be the intensive 5-day-a-week Japanese classes that I’ve been attending. Well, I haven’t yet learnt enough grammar and vocabulary to make a decent conversation in Japanese, but I discovered yesterday at Kinokuniya that I could stumble through some simple Japanese manga (e.g. Hikaru no Go). This made me really happy.

On the one hand, I don’t feel like I’ve wasted my time doing nothing these couple of months, on the other, I feel like there’s a lot of things that I need to do that I have yet accomplished. These things include writing my resume and updating my Mythology website (I’ve been so lazy and unmotivated). I also want to get my English back to standard (this is an actual need, for me to write a decent resume), which means I need to read the books that have been lying unread in my bookshelves for months.

3D art can go to hell

Shit, I have no life at all. It’s the midterm break and guess what? I’m in school right now waiting for the computer to render the blasted 3D artwork that I’ve been working on for for the past 2 weeks. The ultimate sad thing is that I have been spending hours on the 3D assignment and the animation run time is a grand total of 8 seconds. How pathetic is that? *whine grumble grumble*

On the bright side, I’m meeting Joel, Leanne, Shawn and Mel in the evening at KAP. Then we’ll be heading to my place to have a mini Anime festival which will last late into the night. However, I’m not so sure whether I can stay up so long. Right now, my eyes are already red and swollen from staring into the monitor. The irony is that I could be having a break right now since I don’t have to do anything but wait for the computer to render the work, but instead I’m on Blogger griping about how my life and computers suck, the sole reason being that I can’t just sit down and do nothing. It’s too boring. *sigh

Seisouhen

I just watched the second part of the Kenshin Seisouhen OVA today. It took me days to get a complete copy. the default server for WinMX was kind of frustrating, so many connection and download problems… until I discovered this website Anime Fantasia. Through their OpenNap server, I had no problems locating and downloading the file quickly. It occurs to me that the people using the server are all anime fans who are willing to file share and will not disconnect you just because you have nothing that they want to trade from you.

Kenshin and Kaoru

Anyways, about the OVA? All I can say is…. WHHHHYYYYY? I watched the first half of Seisouhen (that I got from Ketsugi and could already guess what was going to happen. But still…WHY IT HAVE TO BE THAT WAY?!

That’s the irrational bit of me acting up I guess.
