I am so very tired.

I am so very tired. I only got to sleep at 5 AM in the morning earlier because I was scripting this darn school programming assignment. The reason why I took so long was because I’m completely out of touch with java. I got stuck at one point for a few hours and it turned out that it was a stupid mistake that involved only a handful of additional words. So INFURIATING. Oh well, shit happens. But anyway, at least I’ve got it settled.

I found myself awake at 7:30 AM because my family had to go to church. Waking up with so little sleep is an extremely painful thing to do. Luckily I had a rather invigorating Ashtanga class today so that sustained me pretty much the rest of the day. I still have lots of work that I need to get done. The coming weeks aren’t going to be fun methinks. Exams and assignments are almost here again =(

Skimpy bikini

Well, today wasn’t bad at all! I had 2 hours of class in the morning, but they were pretty easy to handle. I’m somewhat physically tired from swimming/shopping on Saturday, then yoga on Sunday, but I’m tired, to put it crudely, in a ‘happy’ way. I guess it’s because the mid-term break’s next week so there’s a holiday atmosphere that’s developing.

As I mentioned earlier, I went shopping on Saturday. And guess what? I bought my first (errrm) skimpy bikini. All thanks (or perhaps, no thanks?) my very persuasive best friend. I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned in any of my earlier journal entries: recently I’ve been splurging on swimming costumes since I’ve recently re-picked-up the habit of swimming. So it’s more than a good thing to have at least 2 sets just in case I wish to swim on consecutive days. But this is my fourth swimming costume in 2 months! The first one was a rather decent bandeau bikini (that I haven’t worn yet), and I got it cheap, cheap. $16 for a set. The second and third sets were tankinis (and they’re looong) that I bought for swimming at the pool. Now this one’s a pink/white flora ‘triangle’ piece set that borders on the indecent (in my normally conservative opinion). My best friend bought a identically-cut blue flora set. We’re going to wear that to Sentosa during our term break.

Self-disgust

I am somewhat disgusted at myself for having devoured an uncountable number of Chinese New Year cookies. Enough to make me feel sick to the stomach, literally. I weighed myself earlier today and I think I’ve put on about 1kg in the last 48 hours. So much for yoga and swimming last week. Tomorrow (or rather later) marks the beginning of my intended week-long (hopefully anyway) diet hehe. It’s going to be the mid-term break soon and if I’m going to the beach I don’t want to look like (as my friend calls it) an ‘aircraft carrier’ LOL.

Neglect

Awful… I’ve been neglecting blogger as you can tell. Rather busy of late. Yesterday I finally managed to take time to update my Squaresoft Repository website. Kind of shabby writing but I thought I should put something up to satisfy the visitors for the time being while I sort the rest of my life out. On a good note, I’m going for my old junior college’s fun fair tomorrow. Should be fun.

Feeling Jittery

I’m feeling jittery at the moment. School makes me feel nauseaus sometimes. I think it’s definitely the homework. I had pretty great day earlier, an interesting lecture in the morning, lunch with some friends in the business faculty canteen. When I got home, I did a bit of surfing, spent some minutes on some yoga postures, and after that, TV for an hour.

So I thought: okay, maybe it’s time to check out what homework I may have been assigned. I drop by one of my computing modules’ website (database module), and lo and behold, I see 6 tutorial questions that I have to get done by next Monday. Suddenly I don’t quite feel so good anymore.

I attempted the first tutorial question and decided to give up. It wasn’t too difficult but it’s really tedious. I wasn’t in the right frame of mind then, and neither am I now. Maybe I’m just tired. I’ve been sleep deprived for various reasons these couple of days - yoga may be my spiritual caffaine that supplements me with energy to overcome lethargy, however, it can only do so much before exhaustion creeps in once again.

It's a new year again!

It’s a new year again! While I really like to be optimistic about beginnings, I can’t believe it’s the end of the school holidays and back to school again. Yeeeeeeeeewwwww… This semester looks pretty bleak…programming assignments, school homework etc. =( Last sem seems like a holiday compared to this one. But then again, school hasn’t really started yet, so I really can’t say for certain. Let’s hope things aren’t as bad as they look like they are going to be.

New year resolutions? Not many that I can list — didn’t really think about it. Well, let’s hope I can find something to enrich my (boring) life, get good grades, and basically enjoy as much as I possibly can.

Ashtanga Christmas

Woohooo… I got an Ashtanga yoga mat and mat carrier for Christmas from my mom. Just the very present I wanted!!!

Actually, I chose it myself *sheepish look*… my mom accompanied me to my yoga center where she paid for it with her credit card…hehe… but let’s forget that…

This morning (after I wake up later) I’m going start a habit of doing yoga/pilates at home (yoga classes are getting too expensive). Normally, I only do handstands against the wall because headstands are a bit dangerous if you don’t have the right support (ie cushioning). But with this mat, it makes my life a lot easier.

Bored, bored, bored...

Bored, bored, bored… I’m still at home, have books to read but don’t feel like reading, the next TV show that’s worth watching is at 5:30PM.

I think humans have been completely consumed by media. If there isn’t any television shows/movies to watch, books/newspapers to read, there’s nothing much else that we can do in our free time. The Internet is such a big part of our lives that we really can’t survive without it anymore. It’s very sad actually. Alternatives are like, going to the beach, or cycling etc, but over here, it can be a bit of a chore doing all those: the beach is a litterbug’s haven (in other words: filthy); cyclists are parasites to motorists (who don’t realise how lucky they are, sheltered away from the pollution they bring to the air while in their mobile air-conditioned compartments)

High on the House

12 Dec 2001, 2:02 AM — 2:54 AM. Written while chatting on ICQ

Late nights are the best time to get inspired. Somewhere around 2AM4AM, you’re online, surfing aimlessly, chatting with your late night buddies who range from the deranged and sexually deprived, to those who are simply bored. It is at this point that your mental condition hovers between the fine lines of consciousness and sleep, where words pour out from your shrinking brain mass that is unable to cope with massive overdose of information that is normally stored within. You don’t need sugar, caffeine, or drugs at this point to get on a mental high. All you need is to close your eyes and imagine the muscles of your body succumbing to the arms of Morpheus — but just barely. It is at this point that you force yourself to keep awake: two paths are available to you to choose from: one, the comforts of dreamscape; two, the harsh, dreary environment of real-life. You choose the latter. When you make that choice, for some peculiar reason, everything around you becomes surreal.
