In a few more hours, it will be back to the mundane working world for me where I will begin my new job. The oh-too-short-break was fun while it lasted. It’s ironic that I feel a less rested than when I was working. Most breaks are meant to catch up with much-needed sleep; whereas in my case, I slept a lot less than I did when I was working: irregular hours i.e. sleeping at 6am in the morning etc.

It was Father’s Day yesterday (which ended 1.5 hours ago) as well as my friend Haja’s wedding ceremony. Met up with my friends from university at the reception; took a few pictures which I will be posting - whenever I get to it.

After that it was dinner with my paternal grandparents for a second Father’s Day dinner. It was at least the fourth dim sum meal I had this week. Man do I need to go on a diet soon (and no, the nuts and chocolate doughnut from Starbucks earlier didn’t exactly help, not to mention the Oreos I had in a moment of greed). My dad couldn’t make it for this dinner, reason being that he had to have his usual game of golf with his church friends today.

Anyways, gave my dad the wallet I got for him. He quite liked it, though it seemed like he would have preferred if I gave him a pda. Sorry dad but I just can’t afford one at the moment hehe…

I have plowed through six months of your musings (out of curiosity) and guess what, you write very well. Maybe, you are wondering who the hell am I? I do not think we know each other at all as I simply google for Taku Iwasaki, my favorite anime music composer ( apart from Yokko Kanno, Yuki Kajiura ) and I find myself here. You write like a young Virgnina Woolf or a Donna Tartt.

Who knows, maybe you can be a Banana Yoshimoto or a Haruki Murakami one day.

A fellow Singaporean but definitely not from the Arts faculty. Doubt you will hear from me ever again.

I am pretty disappointed

I am pretty disappointed when Mitsada decided not to do Xenosaga 2 and I am sure you know the reason he gave. Personally, I think Xenosage 1 takes game music to the next level, or milestone depending how you want to look at it. Especially for a storyline as complicated and engaging as the one for the Xenosaga series and Mitsuada`s free and easy celtic composition is a suitable accompaniment.Though, I do miss his synthesizer style for Chrno Cross and Xenogear.

Kokoro is a well-written song, though I hate it at first, but it grew onto me after I read the lyrics in katana.

Yuki Kajirua, is on the other hand, is more like a progressive composer, who wrote ( rather repetitive ) ambient music but her strength is in using female vocalisation. If you are interested, you can try Hack Sign, Noir, Madlax soundtracks which she composed for.
